Ideal for a singles or couple with a large bedroom and living room, it also has its own kitchen, bathroom(no shower) and washing machine.
The apartment has the feel of a Parisian garret, and is decorated with vintage prints, books fabrics and trinkets as well as beautiful photography. The perfect place to rest your legs after a day sightseeing!
Leytonstone itself has numerous fun and useful shops and resturants; particularly recommended is the Red Lion pub, two minutes walk away. There are lots of green spaces nearby, like the lovely Wanstead Park (formerly the site of one of the grandest palaces in London) and other parts of Epping Forest (previously a Royal Hunting Forest), which make for a relaxing walk.
Stratford, with Queen Elizebeth II Olympic Park and Westfield Shopping Centre is nearby and great for eatings, shopping and sightning.
Transport-wise, the Central Line on the Underground takes 15 minutes to the City and 20 minutes to Oxford Circus, Trafalgar square, etc. We also have night bus service N8 from Central London that stops opposite the house or N55 about 5 minutes walk away - perfect if you miss the last tube!
The apartment is a self contained area within the house which is our family home. You'll of course have lots of privacy, but we'll always be around to help if you need anything. We also like to keep energy consumption low, some of your hot water and electricity come from solar panels on our roof and filtered rainwater goes towards your bath water and toilet flush.
We look forward to welcoming you to London!

Reviews of this property
Nice apartment in a big, nice house with an amazing location. Quiet neighbourhood, about 5 minutes walking to underground station Leytonstone (Central Line). Brings you in 15-20 minutes straight to central London. Tessie was a really nice host, she was warm and welcoming and told us all about the loft apartment, nearby stores and nice places to go. She even gave us one of her books about London to use during our stay. While booking I accidentally checked the wrong dates, but also that was no problem with Tessie and we had it solved out pretty quickly.
The apartment is very spacious and really nice. It has everything you need; kitchen utensils, a kettle, (kitchen) towels, a toaster, toiletpaper and lots of books to read. Only downside is that the bath has no (hand)shower, only a little tap, which makes it difficult to wash hair and rinse of quickly. So it was not possible to take a quick shower, which would have been nice with the warm and sticky weather. Also the bathroom window viewed onto a street and was rather big, but had no curtain, which made bathing, peeing and undressing a bit uncomfortable. But besides that really nothing but good words about this apartment! We really enjoyed our stay here!

Grazie!

We stayed in this upstairs apartment for 8 days. Tessie & family have a nice setup upstairs for guests. There's a sink, microwave, mini-fridge, utensils, pots & pans, plates, bathtub (no shower), washing machine, toilet, sofa, and of course bed. This is spread out through 3 rooms in quite a spacious setup. There is not a separate entrance from the rest of the house, but once inside your apartment you are pretty much self-sufficient.
The only drawback we found was the pub (The Crown) across the way, which gets noisy when they play live music. Fortunately we only experienced this once during our visit. Incidentally it seemed like a pretty nice pub, though we never made it there to visit.
Leytonstone is a nice place on the Central Line with lots of restaurants and grocery shopping options. The house itself is about 5 minutes from the station. The station itself doesn't have elevators for hauling luggage. We flew in from Stansted and it was just a matter of taking a bus to Statford station, then just 2 stops to Leytonstone.
I would recommend Tessie and Dwight's place, especially if you have things to do in East London. Thanks for the good times!
Tessi and her family were realy nice and warm hosts, and made us feel home in their house. The appartment is sweet and we had much space there.
Tessie, Dwight and the children are very friendly hosts.
They gave us many explanations about Leytonstone and London. The flat is nice, calm and very clean. The old historical 'Carlton House' is really beautiful.
We have spent six marvelous days in London.
